Platelet Rich Growh Factors
At Oregon Foot & Ankle Center we pride ourselves with providing our patients with cutting edge technology. One of the latests techniques used to heal tendon and bone is using the patients own blood in a process by which the most potent healing factors are extracted and then injected into the site of the problem. There is much literature to support this technique, and our physicians are well trained regarding the use of these potent healing factors to speed your recovery. Insurance companies do not currently cover this new technology, and we charge approximately $1,500 to cover the cost of the materials and expertise needed to do this simple but effective procedure. We feel that using your own healing potential and your bodies own cells to create an optimal environment is a safe, effective way to supplement and expidite your treatment protocol.
Fungal Nail Treatment
Fungal nails are thick, yellow and can be a cosmetic problem which is sometimes painful. It rarely responds to topical medication, but there are medications which can be taken orally (Lamisil) which are very effective. This medication should be used only in patients without liver problems, and your liver will be tested with a simple blood test before you begin treatment and mid-course. We can also take a biopsy of your nail to let you know if you do, indeed, have fungal nails.
Orthotics
Orthotics are custom made arch supports that control the position of your foot in its optimal position for walking and running. We take a mold of your foot in a particular position (not a foam box), and then send a prescription of the type of materials and what biomechanical techniques for the lab to use for your devices. These are used to prevent pain, cure a number of biomechanical problems, and help in childhood growth and development of the foot if needed.

Heel Pain

We utilize a therapeutic approach to heel pain which includes physical therapy and other modalities. These are typically utilized prior to surgical intervention. We have found that most all the time we are able to resolve your pain without surgery!
Flat foot reconstructive surgery
Dr. Kevin Miller specializes in flat foot reconstructive surgery to give you an arch and a more stable foot to stand on. This helps with the biomechanics of walking and the stress on the knee, hip, and back. If you have had custom orthotics (arch supports) without adequate relief, surgery may be an option for you.
Cortisone Injections
Cortisone is an anti-inflammatory medication that is often used in various parts of the body, including the foot. We often do this procedure in the office and will make sure it is as pain free as possible. We will use cold spray to numb you skin, lay you back in the chair, and offer you a pillow. We feel these little things, together with proper technique, will make your experience more pleasant.
Ingrown Nails
Ingrown nails can cause a painful infection, and are a problem for many people. We have several treatment options, including trimming the nail and giving you antibiotics, or permanently removing the nail border that is the problem. This is done under local anesthesia in the office.
More treatment rooms for your convenience!
Due to our growing patient population, we have expanded our clinic to include two more treatment rooms. This will ensure that you get seen in a timely fashion. We hope you like our new additions!
